Summer Research Project: Promotion across Broadcast Platform

As well as the print platform, Sherlock Holmes was promoted across the broadcast platform. Interestingly, the film was broad casted on terrestrial channels such as T4 which had an exclusive behind the scenes look at the film and had interviews with the director, Guy Ritchie and cast members including Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, Mark Strong and other cast members. In this way, the audience have a chance to interact with the film and have the ability to identify with key characters such as Holmes and Watson.

Guy Ritchie alognside key cast members talk about the film and performing scenes. Though, Ritchie uses Doyle as inspiration for the film, due to the author's success with the likes of Hound of the Baskervilles. Richie and the crew aim to take a contemporary feel to the film, whilst also aiming to make it more traditional and gritty.
